International IMO Training

The Mountain of Mathematics program combines two of my passions in life: maths Olympiads and teaching. On several occassions I been fortunate enough to combine this with travel, a third passion of mine. This includes lecturing and training the NZ team, as well as Ghana in 2023 and 2026, and Bhutan in 2026. I am always keen to be involved in the training program of other countries, and I believe my experience working with contestants at bronze medal level and below allows me to better help students understand and overcome the challenges they commonly face at that level.

If you represent your country and are interested in involving me in your training program, please contact me. Logistically speaking, I will generally volunteer to train in your national MO program in exchange for the opportunity to visit your country, or to represent your country in some capacity at an international competition. However, neither of these are requirements.

2026

Ghana

Weekly online training for 6 months at the pre-camp, training squad, and IMO team levels.
Represented Ghana as Team Leader at the 4th IMSC in Beijing.
Represented Ghana as Team Leader at the 67th IMO in Shanghai.
Results: Two Honourable Mentions with 24 combined points, the highest total score ever for Ghana!

Bhutan

Lecturing training squad for two weeks in January in Wangdue Phodrang.
Training IMO Team and Bhutan PSC for 10 days in June in Paro.
Results: Total of 8 combined points, highest total score ever for Bhutan!

Other

Lecturer and Marker in the NZ Summer Camp and Squad Training Program. Result: 1 Silver, 1 Bronze, 2 HMs
Weekly training for 3 of the EGMO team members. Result: 3 HMs.
Lectured on Visualisations at the 4th International Mathematics Summer Camp.

2025
